The popular American fashion reality TV show   Project Runway  produced & hosted by supermodel Heidi Klum is back for its 12th season.  This season sees the 2nd ever African contestant since we saw the Liberian designer  Korto Momolu  in season 5, who left as the runner-up. This time, Congolese designer –  Kahindo Mateene  who founded the  Modahnik  design label is getting her shot at the winning title. I love the model used. She has such straight legs! Wish I had such hot legs. View her 2013 Spring/Summer Collection below.

My Matted Hair Vs My Wig

Image
Good day all, well yesterday I loosened the fixing which I had on and I steamed my hair and matted it (didi).  I was supposed to trim it but I totally forgot to tell them to do that, so that would be next time. Afterwards, I bought a lovely looking wig and put it on. The wig is a chocolate product with a nice texture and guess what, it's very affordable too. Got for just N2,500. It's possible I could have gotten it cheaper but I was just too glad getting it for the price I did.  My future husband-to-be (the name I would call by bf for the benefit of this blog) saw my matted hair and was like "What is this?". Luckily for me, he was not too bothered, just told me to put on the wig so he could see what I looked like. He then shook his head and said "Thank God for the producers of wig." Transitioning from Relaxed to Natural Hair

Image
I'm considering transitioning from relaxed hair to natural hair. I have not fully decided but I am actually excited about it already.  I have come to believe that our black hair is beautiful the way it is and we should learn to embrace our hair. We can never really have hair that that of the Whites, Asians, Latinos etc. So, we might look at their hair with longing... but we should look at our own natural hair with longing! because it is possible. Having a hair texture like the white is not possible so why long after the impossible. Chemical relaxers contain an unspeakable amount of toxins. Sodium hydroxide is lethal if ingested, so you need to ask yourself, “What is this doing to my body when I put it on my scalp?” Your body is absorbing it that’s what. Studies are finding that relaxers are being linked to fibroid tumors in African American women. Going from relaxed to natural hair is like letting go of a chemical weight that has held you down as long as you’ve bee
